Michael Belanger is the Vice President Distribution at GCP Hospitality, which manages a growing portfolio of over 20 properties and 4,000+ keys around the world. Michael is responsible for the Revenue and Distribution strategy of the company, which includes properties such as The Strand Hotel Yangon, Hotel G Singapore, Campus Hong Kong and Residence G Shenzhen. Under his guidance, the company is developing revenue management best practices and processes for Hotels, Serviced Apartments and Student Accommodations.

Prior to joining GCP Hospitality, Michael worked over 15 years with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) across North America, Middle East and Asia, with his most recent role at the company’s Asian’s flagship, InterContinental Hong Kong, as Director of Revenue Management.

As Co-Founder and CEO, Patrick drives vision and growth at Duetto. With over a decade spent in the hospitality, non-profit and government sectors, he has brought entrepreneurial insights to organizations and established them as industry leaders and innovators. Previously at Wynn Resorts, and with consulting clients, Patrick realigned strategic marketing functions to maximize profit. While in the public sector, he drove modernization of financial reporting standards, unchanged since the 1950s, making labor unions more accountable to their members.

Jake Coleiro has an extensive hotel background starting in Operations with TFE Hotels in Australia. He moved on to specialize in Revenue & Yield Management before joining the Market Management team at Expedia in 2011. Leading an experienced team of market consultants across Oceania, Jake established and developed hotel partner relationships and helped hoteliers maximize their exposure across Expedia’s portfolio of travel booking websites. Most recently, he relocated to Hong Kong and in his current role, Jake oversees Expedia’s lodging inventory from acquiring new hotel inventory to managing relationships with hotel partners.

Boon Sian Chai serves as the Senior Director for Expedia Lodging Partner Services Group for Asia Pacific. Based in Hong Kong, Chai oversees the team spearheading the growth of supply partners in North Asia in support of Expedia’s dynamic portfolio of 200+ travel booking sites globally.

Chai has progressed through the ranks in his years with the Expedia group. With an extensive knowledge and in-depth experience of the online travel space, Chai enjoys spending time consulting with hotel partners on their pricing, distribution and marketing strategies.

Prior to joining Expedia, Chai was the COO of an IT startup company specialising in online human resource system and held corporate planning and ecommerce positions with SHC Capital Ltd working on strategic planning, business development and sales and marketing.

Chai holds a MBA from the Chicago Booth School of Business.

RJ Friedlander is the Founder & CEO of ReviewPro, the world leader in Guest Intelligence for the hotel industry. He recently negotiated the sale of ReviewPro to Shiji Group, a publicly traded company that is 15% owned by Alibaba and one of the largest hospitality technology companies in the world. Prior to ReviewPro, Friedlander worked extensively in the Internet and technology sector in Europe, US and Asia and spent 10 years at Grupo Planeta where he was the CEO of the Group’s Digital Media Division.

Friedlander is an advisor and investor in a number of technology companies, widely recognized as one of the top experts in hotel technology & online reputation management and is on the advisory board of The Hotel School at Cornell University

Steven Gong has extensive experience in the online travel industry in the Asia Pacific region with experience working at an OTA, a metasearch engine, and hotel technology companies. He started his career in management consulting and is currently responsible for Asia Pacific expansion at Triptease. Steven holds a degree in Information Systems from the University of New South Wales.

Richard leads Hotel ICON and is responsible for the company’s overall business success, customer experience, culture and student internship experience. In a career that spans 30 years, Richard has held top management positions for Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, Dusit Hotels and Resorts and Gulf Hotel companies and is one of the few hospitality industry executives that understand both project management, operations and marketing of the individual non branded lifestyle and branded luxury hotels and clubs segments, plus the education sector.

Between 2004 and 2009, Richard was Director of Development and responsible for all renovations at Hong Kong-based Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts in Asia Pacific's leading luxury hotel group. We are also regarded as one of the world’s finest hotel ownership and management companies. Richard managed renovations of over 90 hotels and resorts throughout Asia Pacific, North America, the Middle East, and Europe, the Shangri-La group has a room inventory of over 38,000.

In 2009 he was hired as General Manager overseeing project management, recruitment, brand culture, and successful launch of Hotel ICON, wholly owned by Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and an extension of the School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM), Hotel ICON is the first teaching and research hotel of its kind in the world. Although other universities have teaching hotels, the SHTM’s approach is unique. Hotel ICON is a purpose-built hotel that completely integrates teaching, learning and research in a full-service environment.

Rod has a long history in the hospitality technology space, starting with Webvertising, the company that created the iHotelier Central Reservations System. In 2004, Rod co-founded Whiteboard Labs, which produced the Windsurfer® CRS in 2009. Since then, in 2012, Whiteboard Labs merged with Sceptre to create SHR and Rod has been successfully leading the new company through great growth since its inception.

Prior to his time in the technology sector, Rod spent 10 years in the banking industry where he advised a large number of companies in a wide-range of industries and countries. During this time, Rod was a Vice President in the Latin America corporate banking group of Bank of America and also served as Vice President and Client Advisor in the International Department of the Chase Manhattan Bank in Houston. In that capacity, he advised subsidiaries of multinational companies in corporate finance and investment banking matters.

Rod is a graduate of the Financial Management Program at Stanford University and was a participant in the 1999 Focused Financial Management Series at Harvard Business School. He holds a B.B.A. in Marketing and an M.B.A. in International Business & Finance from the University of Houston.

Tommy Lai is the Vice President of North Asia of ONYX Hospitality Group, one of Asia’s fastest growing hospitality companies. Based in Hong Kong, Tommy heads up the business development for Greater China, and the operations of all brands in this region. Prior to his current position which he assumed in 2016, Tommy was Vice President, Development, North Asia, where he expanded the Shama and OZO portfolios in Hong Kong and China, and secured new Amari deals for the region.

Tommy has close to 20 years of experience in the financial, real estate and hospitality industries. Possessing extensive knowledge of Asia, his experience spans many markets such as South East Asia’s Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam to North Asia’s China, Hong Kong, Japan and Korea. Tommy has a unique blend of expertise and skills, having worked across the different functions within the real estate spectrum, from development to marketing to investments. These provide him with an in-depth and holistic understanding of the property cycle. Before joining ONYX, Tommy was Head of Investment and Business Division of a multi-billion cross-border joint-venture project, between the governments of Singapore and China. Prior to that appointment, he was AVP (Investment) of a private investment fund with more than US$2 billion AUM in Asia, where he successfully structured and transacted more than US$500 million in investment and real estate development deals in the region.

A native of Singapore, Tommy holds a master’s degree in applied finance from the University of Adelaide, and a first-class honour’s degree in building construction management from the University of New South Wales. He is currently a member of the HAMA (Hospitality Asset Managers Association).

Nick Price is the founder of NetSys Technology a software development and technology consulting company focussing on the hospitality and travel sectors. As part of his portfolio of responsibilities, Nick also holds the post of CIO at citizenM ( ), a happening Amsterdam NL based Hotel Company with global aspirations. Nick has worked with citizenM since early 2013 and is responsible for a large and growing set of digital technologies, including traditional IT. Prior to starting NetSys, Nick held the CIO post at Global luxury hotel brand Mandarin Oriental for twelve years where he was fortunate enough to participate in a significant global expansion of the company from its base in Hong Kong. Nick, a UK national, is an inductee in the HFTP (Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals) Hall of Fame, and a co-founder and past-president of HTNG (Hotel Technology Next Generation). In late 2016, Nick was elected to the Board of Hospitality Financial & Technology Professionals (HFTP). When not on a plane, Nick can be found at his homes in France or Hong Kong.

As Managing Director of Cendyn internationally, John is responsible for growing Cendyn within EMEA and Asia Pacific. Prior to joining Cendyn, John’s 22 years in the hospitality industry has been focused in sales, marketing, distribution and hospitality technology. John has held a number of senior management positions at companies including eRevMax, Pegasus Solutions, HBSi and the Global Hotel Alliance.

John has actively been involved with the European Tour Operator Association (ETOA); Meetings Professional International (MPI) and Hotel Electronic Distribution Network Association (HEDNA). John currently sits on the Sales Advisory Board of HSMAI Europe. Prior to joining the hospitality industry, John was a Professional Tennis Coach.

Dr. Stowe Shoemaker (Ph.D., Cornell University) is the Dean of the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration and a Lincy Professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, with extensive background in pricing, revenue management, consumer behavior, and customer loyalty programs. He has worked with British Airways on their pricing strategy and trained all their revenue managers. He also worked with Accor, Hilton, Landry’s, and Hyatt on their loyalty programs.

During his career, Dr. Shoemaker has helped game developers test market new casino games (both slot machines and table games), developed programs to measure customer satisfaction, modeled the success and failure of marketing promotions, and developed segmentation strategies based on motivations for gambling.

Dr. Shoemaker’s research has won numerous awards, and he has published two marketing textbooks: Marketing Leadership in Hospitality and Tourism: Strategies and Tactics for a Competitive Advantage and Marketing Essentials in Hospitality and Tourism: Foundations and Practices.

Since 1996 Dr. Shoemaker has been on the executive education faculty of Cornell University where he has taught courses in strategic pricing, revenue management, strategic marketing for hotels and restaurants, and customer loyaly.

Dr. Shoemaker has incorporated his knowledge of hospitality to help healthcare professionals work on patient satisfaction. He held a joint appointment at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and is currently working with them on other research. Locally, he is working with UNLV Medical School.

Patrick Sin is the Director of Sales, Marketing & Revenue Management of Hotel ICON, a teaching & research, upscale luxury hotel in Hong Kong. He oversees the sales & marketing division to provide recommendations on long term marketing direction as well revenue management strategies. Being the head of committee of Corporate Social Responsibilities & Diversity Inclusions of Hotel ICON, Patrick also works on various projects promoting such cultures among hotels in Hong Kong.

Before devoting his work to Hotel ICON, Patrick served as Regional Director of Revenue Management of Preferred Hotels & Resorts in Asia Pacific, working with more than 120 hotels in term of digital marketing, revenue management & sales distributions support.

As Managing Partner of HVS Asia Pacific, German-born Daniel Voellm is responsible for the operation of the Firm’s valuation, consulting and investment services for clients based in Hong Kong and throughout the region. With more than 10 years of consulting experience, Daniel Voellm has provided advice in 22 territories across Asia Pacific. Prior to assuming his regional role, Daniel Voellm headed the Hong Kong office after his time as Vice President at HVS’ global headquarters in New York (2005-2008) conducting a wide range of appraisals, market studies and underwriting due diligence services in 22 states as well as Canada.

Daniel Voellm brings a strong understanding of the hospitality industry to HVS. His experience in hotel and food and beverage operations in Germany, Switzerland, England and the United States is complemented by an Honours Bachelor of Science Degree fromEcole hôtelière de Lausanne in Switzerland. Daniel works closely with key institutional and private owners of hotel properties, financiers, developers and investors, and has gained a strong understanding of their investment requirement and approaches to assessing market values of investment properties. Daniel further advises on property and concept development and strategy.

After heading the Hong Kong office in 2008, Daniel opened a new HVS offices in Bangkok and Shenzhen in 2013 and was promoted to Managing Partner Asia Pacific in 2014, responsible for 5 of the firm’s offices, now also including Beijing and Shanghai. Daniel became a professional member of the Royal institute of Chartered Surveyors in October 2016. Daniel is chair of the Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) Hospitality Development Council in Asia Pacific.

Mr. Joseph Xia established Yearth in 2017. Yearth is the next-generation hospitality alliance that empowers independent hotels and small chains through technology and shared resources. By leveraging on its loyalty program and digital marketing platform, Yearth can help alliance partner hotels increase bookings through a direct channel, while allowing each hotel to retain its distinctive characteristics.

Mr. Joseph Xia has extensive experience in the hospitality and airline industry. In 2000, Mr. Joseph Xia joined Air China and accumulated his experience in the areas of ground operation, sales, revenue management, etc. In 2006, Mr. Joseph Xia joined Jin Jiang Inns as Revenue Management Manager and Deputy Director of Sales & Marketing, taking charge of revenue management, call center, frequent flyer program and sales, etc. Mr. Joseph Xia joined Shanghai Jin Jiang International E-Commerce Co., Ltd. as Vice President in Nov., 2010, he is in charge of Sales & Marketing, internet product, BI and Big Data.

Mr. Joseph Xia holds a Bachelor degree from Civil Aviation University of China and an MBA degree from Fudan University School of Management. Mr. Joseph Xia is also Visiting Lecturer and Research Tutor of Travel & Tourism Department of Fudan University.

Yeoh Siew Hoon is the founder of WIT (Web In Travel), an Asia- based news platform and events community for anyone passionate about travel and technology.

WIT runs conferences in Middle East (Dubai), Indonesia (Jakarta and Bali) and Japan (Tokyo) and its flagship conference in Singapore is APAC’s largest and most diverse gathering of online travel professionals. In 2016, it launched its first WIT Europe in London to bring the Asia story to Europe.

A travel journalist by background, she founded WIT in 2005 and sold it to Northstar Travel Media in April 2014. She was awarded Tourism Entrepreneur of the Year by the Singapore Tourism Board in 2014.

Post-acquisition, she oversaw the editorial strategy for TravelWeekly Asia as well as Northstar’s other media assets in the region.

The Penang-born Siew Hoon is also a published author and she’s written several books, including “One Hour Around Asia: Tales of Condoms, Chillies and Curries” and “The Story of Baitong and Boon” which she co-wrote with 16-year- old Phantila Phataraprasit for the Himmapaan Foundation of Thailand undet its “Buy A Book, Help A Child To Read” initiative.

For every book sold, the Foundation donates a book to a child. It is to help spread the love of reading among children, increase English literacy in rural Asia and to raise awareness of the plight of elephants in an increasingly urbanised Asia.

Michael Yin was recently appointed as President of Galasys PLC by Shiji Group. Galasys is a leading travel destination management solution provider. Before joining Shiji, Michael was Area Managing Director of IDeaS Revenue Solutions, a SAS Company. Michael led IDeaS China team to build up revenue management culture at most major local hotel companies in the past seven years. Michael is a travel industry veteran, with more than 20 years of experience in strategic marketing and sales. Prior to IDeaS, Michael held senior level management positions in multinational companies, not only hospitality solution providers like MICROS Systems, but also OTA companies including Ctrip. Michael holds his degrees of EMBA and BA of History from Peking University.

Heading the digital practice at MEC North Asia, Antony’s digital experience includes Google and Internet start-ups in the U.S. His experience spans a variety of functions including search engine marketing and optimization, digital media buying and planning, email campaign management, and market research in both academic and commercial settings. Antony began his digital career while working for Google in its Mountain View headquarters, before moving to a number of startups including oDesk and AdBrite.

He moved to Hong Kong in 2008 to become the Managing Director for iProspect Hong Kong, as well as Key Clients for Asia Pacific. Antony has a wealth of experience working with multinational companies in finance, travel and hospitality, cosmetics, B2B, consumer electronics, and luxury fashion clients throughout his career. He’s recognized as a leading expert in the field of digital and is frequently quoted in the media regarding digital and search engine development in Asia Pacific.

Antony is also a frequent speaker at industry conferences around the region.

Anthony Zhang is the Business Development Manager of STR who is responsible for the company expansion in Greater China and Korea. He joined STR in 2014 and he was frequently presenting market trend and analysis in different hotel industry conferences and events in Asia Pacific. Before joining STR, he was doing project development in Langham Hospitality Group, overseeing several new development projects in China and Asia Pacific, including management contract negotiation, project feasibility analysis and site visit. Anthony was graduated as Master of Science from School of Hotel & Tourism Management of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
